The new identity features a bold typeface combined with a strong colour scheme, to portray a new vibrant identity, intended to appeal to both young people and adults.

A supporting symbol was also created, which was intended to be used alongside the main logo. This logo represents the way the mentor and mentee work alongside each other:

The new website is designed to be a up to date and dynamic resource for young people, staff members, partners and supporters.

Young people can use the site to keep up to date with the activities and events at the centre along with all the latest news. In the ‘programme’ and ‘coming up’ areas young people can quickly find events that they are interested in by searching by age or activity type and easily find out and contact the relevant staff member. The Young People section also features all the latest news, projects, achievements, videos and stories from the young people.

The new website design is a resource for the many publications, videos and media releases that the youth centre publishes, these are all available to read or watch online.

In order to keep the new website up to date, all of the website content can be managed and updated by the youth centre using a customised content management system.

The email design features the new brand identity, with new colour scheme, header and footer design.

This email is template is designed so that the content can be easily edited and additional sections added depending on the amount of content required. Visitors to the website can also subscribe to the email newsletter by filling in a simple subscription form.

The redesigned website features a redesigned identity, with a new colour scheme and playful visual style. The Canaan Project blog was designed to be a key part of the new website as it will be updated regularly with new content, including news, team profiles and activities. The website is also designed to work alongside Twitter, with a feed of the latest ‘Tweet’ displayed on the website.

The finished banners were recently featured at the youth centre’s opening ceremony (see image below).

The banner design features an illustration adapted from the youth centre’s folder design, featuring bold typography, stencils and spray painted textures. The banners were printed using an 8 colour solvent printer on high quality banner vinyl.

The opening marks the completion of an £11 million pound building project of a youth facility for children and young people in Bermondsey and south London.

The artwork was created using spray painted stencils produced by young people and staff at the youth centre. The stencils were then combined with painted textures and bold typography to create a vibrant and dynamic signage design.

The brochure design features two covers, that can be swapped by folding the brochure pages in a different order. This allows the youth centre to tailor the brochure to the intended audience while avoiding the costs involved for printing two brochures.

These brochure designs are part of a wider range of brochure designs, annual report and newsletter designs for the Salmon Youth centre. Some of these projects are listed below:

The 16 page newsletter contains various custom illustrations, bold typography and a vibrant colour scheme. Click here to view some sample pages of the new newsletter design.

The newsletter was printed on recycled paper stocks with a Natural finish. This paper uses up to 70% less energy and at least 15000 fewer litres of water per tonne of pulp used*. Using  a recycled paper stock instead of virgin wood fibre also helps to reduce pressure on forests and diverts waste paper away from landfill.
